Remembering Sandy Hook

Never forget them
when the news turns away
clouding eyes with change

our hearts are stung deep
soul cries for the why’s and how
Innocence broken

who knows what to speak
screams reverberate through head
want to expell pain

disbelief enters
lungs held in vise-like motion
afraid of next blow

before our live’s breathe
each moment written in grace
this world not our home

my heart rebellious
acknowledging that
I want mine always

Offer of his peace
Is so foreign to broken
Acknowledge struggle
