Hello. My name is Janel.

I’m in my early forties and striving to seek the Lord on this journey called life.

I am excited about the things that God has yet to do in my life and am hoping that this blog will be a place where I can share moments from the journey ahead (places I’m sure I can’t even imagine) as well as writings and photos that have inspired me or are dear to my heart. Welcome along for the journey…

“Pour cette temps” translates from French as ‘for this time’ which is taken from Esther 4:14 which states -” For if you keep silent at this time, relief and deliverance will rise for the Jews from another place, but you and your father’s house will perish. And who knows whether you have not come to the kingdom for such a time as this?”

I was reading a magazine one afternoon and it was a reflection on the calling on Esther’s life, and that last part of the verse jumped out at me, and wouldn’t leave me. I do not know what God’s calling is particularly on my life, other than to love and serve Him, and I hope that this will be a place where I cannot only speak about the journey I am being accompanied on, but also the places and pieces that inspire and encourage along the way.

  1. Hey Janel….you have no way of knowing this, but God used you today. I don’t know how you found my blog and decided to follow but when I clicked back here and read your last post–Hard Things– I knew what God wanted to say to me today. Similarities to your experience there and what happened to me this morning in service are uncanny and yet, God’s medicine is still the same. Bless you Sister

  2. Hi Janel. I came over to read this out of curiosity after you somehow found and started following my blog. And I’m delighted to discover we already know one another on Facebook! Though maybe I didn’t know you much before, since reading this and other entries on your blog I feel my knowledge has increased along with my admiration. Every blessings on your life and writing, my friend! 🙂 xx

    • Yes Joy, we have mutual acquaintances and also were in the Winsome study together 😉 I saw that you had written about one of Mary’s books and wanted to check it out. I loved your poem. We are studying Beth Moore’s “Breaking Free” and your poem really resonated with some of the stuff I’ve been reading. thank you for sharing.

      • Thanks, Janel! I am a huge fan of Beth Moore too. The book you mention was instrumental in bringing about healing from emotional pain from my past. I hope and pray it will meet with you wherever you may need healing and strengthening. Blessings 🙂 xx

  3. So good to get to know a bit more about you, Janel….have enjoyed looking at some of the books you’ve been reading, too (I always appreciate having book recommendations from someone with similar tastes!). Helen
